The closest airport to Bear Trap Ranch is Colorado Springs International Airport. But you can also fly into Denver International Airport, which tends to have lower airfares. You will need to rent a car to make the trip to Colorado Springs if you choose this option.
You may choose to rent a car and drive to the Ranch. We will provide detailed directions. If you are interested in car-pooling with other guys, we will get you connected with others arriving on Check-In day.
Autumn in the mountains of Colorado produces mild temperatures during the day and chilly temperatures in the evenings and early mornings. We recommend packing long pants and long-sleeved t-shirts or sweaters.
You will be at 9100 feet above sea level during your stay at Bear Trap Ranch. The elevation will be even higher if you hike the surrounding mountains. We recommend drinking lots of water in the 2 weeks prior to arriving for Road Trip. We also recommend doing some minor excercise in the 2 weeks prior, such as walking (hills if possible) before you arrive. This will help you adjust to the elevation quicker. Also- pack a re-fillable water bottle in your luggage. There will be spickets for water refills at the ranch.
Great question! We recommend bringing weather-appropriate clothing for 4 full days, underwear, a hat or knit cap, sturdy shoes for hiking, a flashlight, your Bible and a notebook, and personal items (deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush). (Note- once you register, we send you a full what to bring and what to know list)
